A presentation was made at a special assembly held on Friday 4 May to farewell Miss Ann Little. Originally from Hawkes Bay, Ann has taught the upper junior class for the past year. She has accepted an appointment at Rangataua Primary School as a relieving teacher during Term Two. lst National Park Scout Group Patrol leaders — Peter Murcott, Michael Kereopa, assistant patrol leaders — Frances Taituma, Kerry Jefferies and Serahn Jacobs attended a weekend camp on Friday 27 April at the Rangiora scout den, in Taumarunui. This particular course has been operating for about the past four or five years and has been called a 'Cosgrove Course' named after Major Cosgrove, the founder of the scout movement in New Zealand in 1908. Throughout the weekend the scouts received instruction on camping, outdoor cooking, knots and bends, patrol management and many other scouting basics. Patrol leaders and assistants from Matapuna, Taumarunui, Ohura, Te Kuiti and Otorohanga also attended the 'Cosgrove Course.' Linda Pakau- Bowring
