MEN'S GOLF
On Saturday 24 March, a small field played a stableford round in perfect conditions. Top score of the day was 39 points by P. Garratt followed by T. Geraghty with 36. Two's were recorded by R. Southee and P. Garratt. The 25 March saw Waimarino score an excellent win over Rangatira at Pearce Park IVi to 41/2. Some very good individual wins were witnessed. As a '•esult, a small field played the home course that day with some excellent scores posted. Best in a par competition were: Senior K. Tapp 6 up, B. Drinkwater 2 up. Junior G. Imhoff 6 up, N. Black 5 up, K. Woollett and N. Wiggins both 3 up. Surprisingly no two's were recorded. On Saturday 31 March, a team of 8 men travelled to
Pearce Park for the annual inter-club match with the Waiouru Camp Rosebowl at stake. In windy conditions, the Army players narrowly won by 6V2-V/2. The Kennedy Cup (Town v Country) was played in reasonable conditions on April Fool's Day, Town scraping home by 8 matches to 7. The highlight of the day was the hole in o'ne played by Con Heinold on the par 3 17th. Trulya nice re ward for a very keen new member. Best scores in the stableford competition were: Senior D. Windle 45, M. Kennedy 40, T. Tapp and S. Swarbrick 39. Junior N. Black and R. Wise 36, R. Te Moana and. C. Allerby 35. Two's were scored by K. Tapp and T. Frederick.
