Toastmistresses go 'back to school'
The Ruapehu branch of 'Toastmistress' began its first meeting of 1984 with a 'Back to School' theme. The T oastmistress for the evening appeared before the group in school uniform and entertained the members with stories interspersed with mimicry of her school days. Other members were asked to talk on various childhood memories. This was followed by a light-hearted review of a book entitled "Is there life after housework?" by Don Aslett. This describes a revolutionary approach to freedom from the drudgery of housework. 'Toastmistress' meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month alternating between the staffrooms of the Raetihi and Ohakune Primary Schools. This lively group is
always happy to welcome visitors who wish to observe how the Club functions. Its aim is to help people express their thoughts and ideas with more tact ,and confidence, not necessarily to the public at large, but amongst family, friends and neighbours. For further information contact Margaret Cornwall in Raetihi or Margaret Horne in Ohakune.
