Raetihi Borough Council foreman, Craig Ryland (pictured) suggested to Council that a number of pieces of farming equipment which had been used in the Waimarino should be displayed in various sites around town as historic reminders of Raetihi's pioneer days. The idea was adopted by council and the first of these former farming implements are now in place on their concrete bases with a fresh coat of paint. Pictured here is a seed drill (right), a single furrow plough and, on the back of the Wanganui- Rangitikei Power Board truck which helped lift and locate them in position, a swamp plough.
