Racing with BULLY

It was very pleasing to hear that Kiwi is back in solid work and Snow Lupton has plans to start him in the 2400 metre Chalmers Handicap at Trentham and also the 2200 metre UDC Finance Handicap. Then there is the likelihood of a start in the Sydney Cup on 28 April. However the most likely target will be this year's Melbourne Cup. All can be sure though that Kiwi will have to satisfy Mr Lupton 100% before he lines him up at Melbourne. Let's all take our hats off to McGinty for his splendid win in the Air New Zealand at Ellerslie last week. It was

expected that his clash with Commissionaire would be a highlight but as it turned out it was really a non-event. Commissionaire led into the straight but had no answer when McGinty raced past him and it was all over at that point. The time was a track record too — so congratulations Colin Jillings and Bob Vance. Track work at Hastings recently has included some impressive work from Lucozade and it will be interesting to see how he performs with the colours up again. Henton Sky is also in great form. At Feilding Volare, Omanuku Ash and Lord Trappeur are attracting

attention and the former will win at his next start I feel. Over at Awapuni Bidston Hill and Aptitude are working well and as the tracks will soon be easing a little it would appear that Bidston Hill could be in for an interesting couple of months. My Waikato spy advises me to stay with Final Affair and says that Swift Zephyr and Eastern Joy could help get over the lifting of the price freeze and their dividends could be worth picking up. Remember Bully tips them first — and you will read it all in the Bulletin.
