Local Swimming Club successes

The Raetihi Swimming and Diving Club is having a run of successes this season. On Saturday 25 February they won the Country Club Championships which were held at the Raetihi Baths. They competed in all age groups from under-9's to seniors (16 and over) and won by a narrow margin over Taihape, Waiouru, Hunterville and Marton. Last Wednesday evening about 20 Raetihi swimmers travelled by private car to

compete against Taihape in the Jackson Cup Relay. This is an annual event between these two teams in each age group. Raetihi won the cup on this occasion. This week four young Raetihi divers are competing in Hamilton as part of the Wanganui Centre team in the National Age Group Championships. They are Sherilyn Condon, Wayne Te Huia, Heather and Graeme Meyer.
