Basketball coaching
The Ruapehu Basketball Club has commenced it's coaching sessions at the College Gymnasium every Thursday evening at 7. Run by J. Seymour and J. Piware, both army personnel from Waiouru, the coaching promises to advance the cause of basketball in the Waimarino district. For a fee of 50cents per player, the prospect of more players attending is high. The most promising player in 1983, Vaughan Taylor, recently attended a week-long basketball clinic in Palmerston North. The additional skills gained there can only benefit Vaughan and the Ruapehu Basketball Club. Upcoming events for the club include a tournament being held in Masterton from 16-18 March. Anyone interested in attending please contact Mrs J. O'Sullivan, 4 Conway Street, Ohakune.
