KUNG FU CLASSES

Kung Fu classes run by Gerard and Vivienne Bidwell of Ohakune are attracting studentsfromasyoungas 10 to the Ruapehu College Assembly Hall for three evenings each week. Recently an entire class of 20 children and adults passed their first Yellow Belt grading. These belts are now being worn proudly at each training session as they train for the next grading ... Green Belt. The Kung Fu (or Nam Wah Pai) style of martial art gradings are held every three months. These classes were started by Gerard and Vivienne Bidwell in September last year. Both learnt Kung Fu in Tauranga before coming to Ohakune and return there from time to time to train for their own higher gradings. Vivienne has qualified for a first degree Black Belt whilst Gerard is just slightly behind ... Brown Belt with Black Tip.
