FUNERAL FOR LOCAL MAN

Several hundred people from all over the Waimarino came to mourn the untimely death of 19-year old Simon Kennedy ata Requiem Mass held in Ohakune's St Joseph's Church last Thursday afternoon. Simon, who was employed by the New Zealand Forest Service, was killed in a freak accident last Tuesday morning in the Taurewa Forest. Simon was the youngest son of John and Pam Kennedy of Miro Street, Ohakune. The sadness at the sudden passing of this popular and likeable young man, who will always be remembered with affection, was shared by the whole community.
