TWILIGHT BOWLS
Ohakune's twilight bowls series ended last week with a win to the Maungaronga Pa One team who were holders of the trophy from last year. Runners up for the Cup, which was donated by Condon Construction, were Winstone's Pulp Mill after a play-off with Kapai Books. This friendly social 5-game series attracted a total of 16 teams from various businesses, clubs and groups in Ohakune including Ohakune Transport (3 teams), Maungaronga Pa (2 teams), Wanganui Savings Bank, Dalgety Crown, Ohakune Borough Council, Skiers Inn, NZ Railways, Maata Supplies, Ohakune Hotel, Ohakune Post Office, NZ Forestry. They proved once again to be a popular earlyevening activity for the 48 people who participated. So successful in fact were the twilight games that it has been decided to run an open
'mini-tpurnament' for visitors on Sunday 18 March at 1.30pm. It is hoped that
many of those w participated in the Twilij Bowls games will enter.
