NEW BREED

A new breed of sheep will be on display at this year's Waimarino Show. Robin and Alan Scarrow and daughters will have a few of their Lincoln Studs on view as well as the new breed they are developing and have been farming for a number of years. These are called 'Chevlo' sheep which so far are proving very promising as early-maturing lambs with good heavy carcase and a good wool pull. Some fleece and lambs wool will be at the show. The ewes are great mothers with good milk supply. and. having open faces, they forage well. The lambs are very lively and hardy at birth. Rams sold to date are crossing well with any breed and, as with the Lincolns, the Scarrow family hope to have something good to offer the farming community.
