This bus — a mobile home on wheels which was parked behind the Ohakune Hotel — was fire and smoke damaged [?]week when gas leaked from a split in plastic hose pipe connecting the gas bottle and cooker. As the occupant struck a match to light an element the leaking gas also ignited badly damaging curtains and other furnishings near the cooker. Prompt action by hotel staff, patrons and the local fire brigade prevented more serious damage and injury.
