New jet boat for Pipiriki rangers
Park rangers at Pipiriki took delivery of a new jet boat last week. It is a 13ft (4.67m) steelhulled boat, painted in white and orange, powered by a ^^0 Falcon motor driving a j^^milton 773 jet unit. It cost $22,000 and will be
used to patrol the Pipiriki reaches of the Wanganui | River. Their earlier boat, which this new one replaces and was similar except in some minor detailing, has been transferred to Taumarunui.
