Siegfried Bauer
The whole . Waimarino community shares the pride of Siegfried Bauer's great feat in winningthe 1000 mile Cliff Young Colac race in record time. I think it disgraceful that he has received no monetary support from New Zealand. He is the world's greatest ultra-distance runner and has made great sacrifices to achieve this incredible title. I propose that we Waimarino residents owe him our respect and support by donating money toward his general expenses. I will give $20 — if there are just
1 00 residents who would contribute this amount we could raise $2000. But some may wish to give more and some may only manage less. Money may be left at the Raetihi and Ohakune Borough Council Offices. All contributions will be acknowledged. So come on Waimarino — show the rest of New Zealand that Siegfried Bauer is appreciated in his own community. You have until 16th December to prove your loyalty to a local lad.
