Racing with BULLY
Another fine day's racing was witnessed at Wanganui on the 26 November and several pcrformances left me with the impression that a winner or two could be pretty close at hand. One who I thought ran a great race and which I think is worth sticking with over the holidays and also in the Avondale Cup was Four Crowns. Still trained at
Foxton by Mr Enright this previous Brisbane Cup winner looked very bright indeed and only just failed to pay a divvy. Next time out and he could be cherry ripe. He is my selection for the Avondale Cup. Another Foxton trained horse, Samplet, from the Busuttin Team ran a most promising race in the ninth and only saw daylight when the race was nearly over, flashing horne for fifth. Retsina will win again and the 2-year old, Helens Joy, is a speedy filly, and although only third at Wanganui was not too far away and it would be wise to paste this name in your wallet. Bully again threw out a good one up north, with Grand Slide coming horne at
25 to 1. Our Waikato spy tells me this was no flash in the pan and a repeat of the same can be expected soon. I believe his stable mate, Chimbu, will just abou ;n his second Auckland Cup so forget his last start effort and start saving dollars for 2 January. Two more Waikato specials to stay with are Dark Romance and Final Affair. The Wellington Racing Club will be holding its next meeting at Otaki because of ground repairs at Trentham and Central District horses to stay with are Bidston Hill, Nampa and Toltec. If he lines up here you would have to put the rent on Atrapar. Remember you read it in the Bulletin ... and it is Bully that tips them first.
