Waimarino Country Fair

This annual event will be held next Saturday 26 November at Frasers Airstrip. Rangataua. The programme will include at least six horse races, six or more tug-o-war events, some testing trials for the rugged young bike riders, gumboot throwing, sack races, three legged races and a lolly scramble. Other games of skill and fun include a nailing stall, power tricycle rides, bowling, target golf, shy stall and a wheel-of-fortune. A display by the N.Z. Army of weapons and transport will interest most young people and from the Post Office the Telecoms Branch will present a display and demonstrate the latest telephone equipment.

When all the excitement sharpens your thirst and appetite, call at the drinks stall and sausage sizzle, or buy something tasty at the cake stall. Have your hair trimmed and take your chances with the quickfire raffles ... lots of fun for everyone. A tug-o-war team needs five to pull and a coach so any group of likely lads or lasses with $5 for their entry fee can contact Mr Hira Parata at Raetihi or see him on the day at the fair. This is great fun with lots of prizes. The Raetihi-Ohakune Rotary Club is here to serve the local community and they take pride and pleasure in offering this entertainment next Saturday.
