Ruapehu College News
The Raetihi-Ohakune Rotary Club is donating an employment game to Ruapehu College. It was developed in Australia but is now available in New Zealand. The game is called 'Leavin' School' and simulates the decisions needed when ■ entering the job market. ' Leavin' School' will be beneficial to senior pupils. From this game they will have some idea of what to expect when they do enter the job market. ★ ★ ★ The Interhouse Smallbore Shooting competition was held on Wednesday 2 November. Pupils had to compete in windy conditions shooting fifty metres from the target. Each pupil was allowed five shots. Each shot was worth a maximum of ten points. House results: Weka House, 1st; Kiwi House, 2nd; Huia House
3rd; and Tui House 4th. Points were respectively: 150, 129, 126 and 102. Individual champions were: Anne Pawley, 1st, Weka House with 44; Craig McGinniss, 2nd, Kiwi House with 41; Jeanette Chung, 3rd, Huia House with 40; Warwick Trail, 4th, Tui House with 37. The winner, Anne Pawley achieved an exceptionally high score in view of the weather conditions on the day.
