Apartheid

Consider these facts before you jump to -conclusions regarding New Zealand's standing towards apartheid. We have racially segregated seats in parliament, racially segregated schools, racially segregated laws, racially segregated sport and

racially segregated land acts. What rights did the original Maoris give the More Ore? Where is their land? Where is their language? The New Zealand Rugby Board were thefirst to bring apartheid in South Africa to the notice of the world. They refused to play rugby with South Africa until our coloured citizens (Maori) were allowed to play in South Africa. After many years, South Africa relented to allow mixed sport and New Zealand again played rugby against South Africa. The New Zealand Rugby Board gave South Africa the 'encouragement to advance further. Do you keep a baby strapped in a cot or bed so they don't hurt themselves experimenting to advance? Or do you put the baby on the floor and encourage it to

make moves even though some may cause damage or cause pain? The New Zealand Rugby Board has taken a step to encourage progress and should be commended for its action, not criticised and isolated.
