Eating out?
Where were all our restauranteurs over Labour Weekend? As a local resident with friends from Auckland visiting for the weekend, we decided to 'eat out' on Sunday evening at one of the ten or so restaurants in town. .At 8.15 we drove around Ohakune and found, much to our embarrassment, that eight of these eating house were closed. Only two were open! Not much of a choice in a town that claims it wants to cater for the all-year-round visitor ... certainly our Auckland friends were not impressed. How can the local community support local businesses if they are not given the opportunity to do so? Reluctant hunger striker
