Racing with BULLY

It is Melbourne Cup time again and all the guessing, prayingand hopingamongst general punters is the top topic at present. Several who have very good credentials are Chez Nous, Fountaincourt and Hayai. The way the latter won the Metropolitan and the Caufield Cup suggests to me that he is going to be the Cup horse this year and I will stick my

neck on the line now and nominate him for the 'Big One'. I would love to draw him in one of Johnny's sweepstakes. Colin Jillings also looks to have his team in great order with Ringtrue and Mr McGinty contesting the other feature races at Flemington. It is certainly adding a lot more interest with the New Zealand T.A.B. opening on so many Australian races and the direct televising of the big ones. Rangitikei races this week at Awapuni and after the two big days at Trentham some of the lesser lights will get their chance. Several who will appreciate the better tracks could be Frincess Dan and Speculation. Both are looking very bright and can be expected

to show winning form very shortly. Royal Egmont is a Wanganui trained jumper who could show to advantage at Rangitikei. From Levin I hear that Sandhurst and Kings Evidence are carrying a lot of local hopes at present and they too could have a good season. Pahiatua races on Wednesday and from Hastings we could see good runs from Beready, Bev and Toltec. The track needs to be in good order for this trio though. Loughmore from the same track is owned by the Frime Minister and is held in high regard. Ferhaps it will be the only way some of us will get any taxes back. Remember Bully tips them first and you will read it in the Bulletin.
