Sports grants made
Twenty eight organisations applied for grants from the Waimarino District Joint Consultative Committee for Sport and Recreation under the'conditions set out by the Local Recreation and Community Development Scheme. Grants totalling $4,360 were paid out to the 21 successful applicants. They were: Waimarino Museum Society $200; Waimarino Rodeo Assn $300; Waimarino Squash Club $200; Waimarino BMX Club $300; Raetihi Amateur Swimming $400; Raetihi Flunket Car Seat Hire $100; Raetihi Netball Club $100; Raetihi Tennis Club $100; Ohakune Bowling Club $300; Ohakune Fony Club $*125; Ruapehu College $500; Mareikura Family Huia Group $100; Whanaake Rangataua Karate $100; Ohakune Swimming Baths $400; Ohakune Karioi Rugby ^^otball $300; Waimarino flBristian People $100; ^Orautoha Hall Comm $120; Waimarino County Council $200; Rangataua Domain Board $115; Ruapehu College Old Boys/Girls $100. The seven unsuccessful applicants were: Te Whakaarotahi Kohanga Reo, Turoa Tumblers, Ruapehu College Old Boys, Waimarino Mens Hockey Club, Ohakune School Committee. Ohakune Railway Ambulance, Ohakune Free Kindergarten.
