Racing with Bully
The racing community at large are keenly disappointed that we will not now know just how Beechcraft would have performed in the last leg of the Guineas treble for, after winning the first two legs in fine fashion, he has now been sold to be partly^ shared with Robert
Sangster in Australia. The horse is to leave New Zealand this week and will not be on hand for the final leg at Trentham. With the Evan Rayner stable having such a good run recently, three Avinners at Awapuni last Saturday, it is interesting to record that the oats etc for this stable are all supplied by the Karioi Grain Co. (Messrs Bates and Strachan) so there is obviously some good nutrition in our local area. Congratulations Karioi Grain Co, Next Friday sees racing at Taranaki with Auckland and Masterton on Saturday. Taranaki will hold a lot of
local horses hopes and this is usually a benefit meeting for horses down as far as Wanganui and Marton. All Sevens and Lens are two who could show up and also watch for Rayner's team. Two that spring to mind are The Fro and Speedy Girl. If he accepts, Drum Stick could also surprise. Auckland could see the return of Amrica and Decanka, and these two are on the list that 1 have given over the last couple of weeks. Remember, Carpe Diem is on that list and home he rolled at odds of about 18 to 1. BULLY tips them first, and you will find them in the Bulletin ...remember.
