Official opening of 'Jumbo' T-bar

AHI Turoa's new 'Jumbo' T-bar is to be officially opened today, Tuesday 13 September, by the Minister of Tourism, Mr Ron Talbot. The opening ceremony will be at 11.00 in the Alpine Lodge cafeteria at the top of the Ohakune Mountain Road. AHI will be represented by Mr Wilson Whineray, director ofoperations, and Mr C. Cairns, deputy

chairman as well as by Mr Tony Wright, manager of Turoa Skifields. Ohakune will be represented by its mayor, Mr Bill Taylor, Raetihi by its mayor, the Rev. Bob Peck, and the Waimarino County Council byits chairman Mr Bruce Berry. Tony Wright invites the public to attend and hopes that many skiers will be at the opening ceremony.
