Waimarino Mens Golf
There were excellent spring conditions for a small field of golfers on 27 August. Good scores were achieved by I. Godfrey with 42 points; R. Southee, 38; R. Wise, 37 and two's by K. Tapp and I. Godfrey. On Sunday 28 August the weather and golf were both again of a high standard. Results: Senior: I. Godfrey 5 up, C. Turner 4 up, R. Southee 3 up, S. Magee 2 up. Junior: P. Goldfinch 4 up, B. Goile 3 up, N. Wiggins, 1. Martin and D. Herewini all 2 up. Two's by M. Kennedy and D. Herewini. With two birdies on one nine, the Junior Birdsnest went to the fast improving young junior M.J. Kennedy.
The Captain's vs President's match will be played on Sunday 1 1 September. With a decent number of players, this can be a very good club day.
