Racing with BULLY

What a wonderful contest the Wanganui Breeders Guineas turned out to be. Two very fine colts in Beechcraft and Fine Offer fought out a desperate finish and there was only a head in it at the finish. McGettigan was unlucky to lose his position half way through the race, but he finished well for third. This fellow is trained by Bill Sanders at Te Awamutu an astute trainer who has a very high opinion of the capabilities of McGettigan. He will win more than his share I

feel sure. The Guineas was the first leg of the $100,000 treble with the Hawkes Bay Guineas being the second leg. The way Beechcraft took the first leg must now mean that his connections will be really excited by the very real possibility of pulling off a coup. Retsina only finished third, being two half heads away but he will very soon be back to salute the judge. Cumberland was another to impress while the locally owned Nossie was unlucky to be caught after hitting the front short of the post. I believe Robin Pearson was tickled pink with this effort, and on that run we wish him all the best in the next few weeks. My Waikato spy tells me that Our Dae has freshened up very nicely and that So Modest is almost jumping out of his skin, he is just so fit. Remember you read it in the Bulletin, and its Bully who tips them first.
