Proposed development for Ohakune's Jubilee Park

A proposal to develop part of Ohakune's Jubilee Park as a recreational complex with swimming baths (existing), plunge pools, ice skating rink, squash courts, tennis courts, an exercise area and other facilities was presented in a letter from an Auckland accountant, Mr

J.D. St. Clair Brown to the Ohakune Borough Council at last month's meeting. Such a development would provide an entertainment and recreational centre for both the local community and visitors all year round instead of costing the ratepayers money to maintain

the existing swimming baths facility, said Mr St. Clair Brown in his submission. Council decided to refer the matter to the town planning committee to obtain some more detailed information about the proposal.
