Ohakune Pony Club News

Following the recent A.G.M. Mr Graeme Cole showed the audio-visual "Pony Tales" — which was well worth seeing. Hat safety was a major concern and a news sheet is being prepared setting out specifications for those buying hats which should be a firm comfortable fit. Reports were presented on last year's activities (to be published next week) and the Pony Club Conference in Hastings. Approval was given to purchase new jump stands, dressage arena rope reel and ribbon for rosettes. Pony rides were to be offered to the special class at Ohakune Primary school and at the school' s Flea Market. This has now been

done and was enthusiastically received. Jim Frost spoke of plans for an adult riding group and it is hoped that both the adult group and pony club will be able to work together. The Pony Club hopes to hold an instructors course as well as children' s and adult riding courses next season. Interested people should contact the club. Elected officers were: Patron: Bob Tod. President: Barbara Fredricksen. Secretary Treasurer: Frances Tebay. Chief Instructor: Evelyn Cooper. Instructors: Frances Tebay, Joy Henderson, Rosaleen Morris, Claudia Mason, Heather Cooper.
