Racing with BULLY
The big steeplechase was a thrilling spectacle on the first day of Trentham. Tantamount gave a brilliant display of quick jumping and front running and was only caught as they came onto the course proper. Orca won well and Grey
Warbler was gallant as runner up. There have been a number of requests for a short list of horses to follow over the winter months so here are a few to paste inside your hatband. Stayers would include Lance, Solitaire, Ancestor, Stylish, Our Charlie, Campaigner and Gold Stratos. Three over shorter distances are Eastern Ruler, Amigacho and Funny Bird. Jumpers would have to include Mondo Mel, Orca, and Royal Mana. Just keep those letters and cheques rolling in folks. Whangarei races on Fri-
day 22nd and although nominations are not yet out, I feel that one who would be suited by the Ruakaka course would be Bonnie Glo. W. De Man trains Bonnie Glo at Takanini and he is having a 'trot' at present. If Pharaoh is taken north, he also would be worth a flutter. Saturday 23rd sees racing at Manawatu and it is here that I expect Ancestor to be prominent. Take Off and Dee Ron would be two others to put the housekeeping on. Remember — Bully tips them first, and you read it in the 'Bulletin'.
