CAR RALLY

On Sunday 24 July the Kapiti Car Club is to hold a car rally in the Waiouru area. The rally will be run mainly in the Karioi Forest with one special stage at the Waiouru airfield and another planned for Access Roads 14 and 15. The rally is planned to start at 9.00am and finish at about 6.00pm. Because most roads in Karioi Forest are to be used for special stages the forest will be closed and access ifk spectators will be v^^ limited. Best viewing will be from the Whangaehu River Ford on the Acquaduct Access Road. Special Stage 5 will use this ford with the first car due to start the stage at 2.25pm. If you want to take your car in you will need to be in before 1.55pm and may not get out before 4.25pm. If you park on the Desert Rd and walk 1 kilometre to the ford you can come and go when you please. For further information on spectator areas W01 Dave Hayward, School of Infantry, Waiouru Military Camp is the man to contact.
