Clubs compete for snooker championships
Waimarino inter-club snooker singles championships were played at the Waimarino Club, Raetihi on 25th June. Six teams, one eaeh of A and B Grade, from Waimarino Club, Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club, and the Ohakune Club took part. Results: A GRADE: Winner: Trevor Ede, Waimarino Club. Runner-up: Bob Cornwall, Ohakune Club. B GRADE: Winner: Jock Dawson, Ohakune Club. Runner-up: Gary Imhoff, Waimarino Club. Highest break, Trevor Fredericksen (22). The Waimarino Club re-
tained the inter-club championship trophy, which based on A Grade resu^^ only. The secretary of the Waimarino Inter-club Committee, Mr Bert Fredericksen, congratulated the winners and presented the trophies. Mr Fredericksen said that a lot of organising was involved in these competitions and it was good to see such a good turnout of spectators. The only disappointing factor was that the respective clubs had difficulty in finding members prepared to participate as competitors.
