Ruapehu College Netball
The elimination round of the Secondary Schools Basketball Nationals was played in Taumarunui recently (Taumarunui College v Ruapehu College). The following players were selected to represent Ruapehu College: Bernadine Skudder (Capt.), Janine Wharehinga, Bernadette Pue, Sharon Binzeggar, Raylene Rangi, Charlotte Pickery, Rosemary Paki, Trudy Taura, Jacky Mott, Judy Kumeroa. Taumarunui College proved too strong for our team. However, taking into consideration that the opposition play senior women's league and because of facilities readily available to them our team did extremely well. The score of 41-6 was really no indic^tion of the way the team performed. The Ruapehu College coach Bubs Hibbard commented on how very wdj^ turned out the local tea^^ were and said that it was a pleasure to be associated with them.
