Ruapehu College

Events of the Week Ruapehu College pupils and staff enjoyed an extra days holiday at Queen's Birthday weekend as a result of the visit of the Minister of Education. Some students last week sat the Pitmans 'English in the Office' Examination, while others were involved in Pitmans Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Typewriting Examinations. The Australian Mathematics Competition Exam will be held on Wednesday June 15th, and - examinations for all senior pupils begin on Thursday June 16th. Parents should note that senior pupils have been t granted study leave and are required to be at school only during examination time. Further details have been

given to all senior pupils in a newsletter. A team of junior crosscountry runners will travel to Thames to compete on Saturday June 18th. The 4th Form clothing class will be involved in an education trip to Taupo on Thursday June 16th. School Council Officers were elected last week. They are - Chairpersom SaraJane Willis. Secretary: Richard ' Wharehinga. Treasurer: Vicki Baker. The Student Council is made up of two representatives from each form class. Projects on hand are a mufti day and a work day. Chris Mosaed, 6th Form Ruapehu College pupil, has now started his ski-training programme in earnest. We wish Chris well in his quest for the top in skiing.
