BNZ backs Telethon 1983
This year's Telethon is scheduled for the weekend of 25/26 June. The Bank of New Zealand has had a close association with Telethon over the years, and this year around 350 staff, primarily from Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Lower Hutt, Christchurch and the Stuart Street Dunedin Branches, will again be helping on the day — collecting and counting donations in the television studios. Ohakune and Raetihi Branches of the BNZ will also become actively involved and have now received supplies of BNZ Telethon money boxes — small blue carboard boxes featuring the BNZ logo and that of the Family Trust. The . public are invited to collect a money box from their local Branch and return them — full, we hope — to the Bank for crediting to the Telethon account. 80,000 money boxes have been produced representing one for every 40 New Zealanders. The BNZ hopes that its involvement will help boost the Telethon collection this year to a record level.
