RAETIHI SCHOOL

Pupils from the school will again be participating in the winter skiing programme being run by Turoa Skifields during the 1983 season. This is the third year in succession that this programme is being offered by Turoa Skifields to local schools and is "extremely successful" according to principal, Mr Ken Holmes. This year's programme is being organised by Mrs Carol Dean. About 70 children will be joining the ski programme this year. For children not taking part in the ski programme the alternative option is squash racquets. But all children wanting to ski should be able to do so . . no pupil will be restricted by finance, said Mr Holmes. The Turoa ski programme has to be approved on a year-to-year basis by the Wanganui Education Board and each of the participating schools have to submit a report on the programme to the Board at the end of the season.
