Visitors from overseas are advised that the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation provides free hospital accommodation and treatment for any injury sustained in the country. You will not, however, be eligible for any compensation for loss of earnings. If possible, you should privately insure against this before arriving in New Zealand.
