THE DUNBAR-FIELD DRAMATIC COMPANY.
As our readers have no doubt observed by onr advertising columns, the above very powerful dramatic combination are announced to open at the Public Hall hers for a short season of two nights only on Saturday next. December 30th. The Company has scored a great and immediate success wherevor they have appeared and are the most complete and talented company that have ever appeared on the river. Happily for ourselves, they have chosen the festive New Year’s holiday season to make their first appearance amongst us and this fact alone, added to the individual excellence of the admirable performances given by the company should eusure them bumper houses during their short stay. The company is headed by that most popular of emotional actresses, Miss Helen Fergus, who reappears after a considerable absence, having scored a brilliant and long list of success throughout Australasia since her last appearance here. The opening piece selected by the management is Tom Taylor’s world-famed London drama—“ The Ticket of Leave Man ” which, wherever it has been performed by the combination has met with warmest approval and the adventures of the hero “Bob Brierley ” are invariably watched wiih spell bound interest by the audience. This part is enacted by Mr Lawrence Dun ar who is most favourably known am mgst us and is sure So sustain the reputation ho his gained For their second and last? perform ruce (yii New Year’s night, January Ist 1894) a powerful dramatization of Mrs Henry Wood’s celebrated n .ve “ East Lynne” will be presented with Miss Helen Fergus in her great creation of the unfortunate ‘ Lady Isabel.’ In conclusion we can assure our j readers that nothing will be left undone to ! aid the success of the performances and we strongly urge the public not to miss thß great dramatic treat offered to them. We wish the combination every possible sac--cess, SP 8s ■ .
