POLICE COURT, ARATAPU.
SATURDAY.—Before Messrs T. Webb
and A. E. Harding J’s P, C. Humphreys was charged by Constable Scott with riding a horse with a sore back Accused pleaded guilty and was fined 10s and costs 2. Johu Brown applied for a prohibition order against his father, James Brown. He gave evidence in support of his application. The order was granted for a term of twelve months. nfotices have been served upon the hotels at Dargaville, at Aratapu and at Toka Toka, and also upon the two steamers with licenses in reference to this case,,
N. W. CRICKET ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Managing Committee of this Association was held on Wednesday evening, Mr C. IT, Mansill on the wool - sack. It was definitely decided to send a Wairoa team to Waipu to play on 30th December, and the Secretary was instructed to write to Mr John Hariison and N. D S, Company re charter of steamer. The protest of the Aratapu II team re their match with Tatarariki II was considered and it was found that as far as the scoring was concerned the win was Tatarariki’s. The settlement of the second ground of protest, namely that the game was a win for Aratapu at the time specified for drawing stamps, but was continued beyond the time, was adjourned to the next meeting in order that both umpires might be in attendance to give evidence.
