Rice played a splendid innings of good cricket ; he is very strong on the leg side. Stracban and Mansill both, played carefully and well, D. Rice and G. Nield were the most successful trundlers. Aratapu made a very poor show with the bat and were quickly disposed of. Subjoined are the full scores ;—- ARATAPU.

W. Cricket Association—Sir, I have been requested by the Captain of the Aratapu Junior team that played at Kopuru today to enter a protest against the Tatarariki C. C. claiming the match played today. First on the ground that the scores were not added up rightly, as our scoring book shows that Aratapu won by one run.
