(From our own Correspondent). The County Council election resulted as follows : John McCarroll 26 H?nij Worthington 23 Mr McCarroll was declared duly elected. Considerable interest was manifested in the election throughout the day, and after the declaration of the poll both candidates thanked the electors for their support. Mr McCairoll said lie would endeavour to the best of his ability to serve the district, “ without fear or favour.” The general election is attracting con giderahle interest. It is said by the wiseacres that the finish between Harrison and Thompson will be very close. The feeling in this district appears to be decidedly in Mr Harrison’s favour.
