N. W. AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The quarterly meeting of the Northern Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held at Mr Kitching’s house, ivlititai, last evening. Present—Messrs Bradley (president), M Harding (secretary), G, Dreadon, W. Dreadon, B. New, IL T. Smith, E. Bassett, J. Kidd, A. Gelston, R. Boyd, T. Ivitchiug, and T, Webb. The secretary reported that he had seen the sheep inspector, and that in future the district would be thoroughly inspected once a year. The local papers had both agreed to advertise meetings at 2s 6d for each notice. A bill from the ‘ Wairoa Bell’for £3 10s, advertising and printing, was passed for payment. Re the Arapohue Pound. —Mr Otto is to make application to next Council meeting far the position of pound-keeper only, as it was considered the settlers could do the ranging themselves. It was decided to unite with the Agricultural Federation. It was decided that the term district in reference to the £SO reward shall include the Hobson County with the exception of the Tangihua district, and that part of Dargaville riding east of Kirikopeni road. It was also decided to draw the Otamatea society's attention to the reward and ask them to follow suit. Decided to hold the next meeting at Aratapu and discuss the question of the Show. The adjourned discussion on the butter factories was resumed, but it was considered that the district was not far enough advanced for ono yet The Stock Act was also briefly considered. It was decided to protest against any duty being put on fencing wire.
