A special meeting of the Kopuru School Committee was held on Monday, when Messrs M, Cobbald and J. Anderson were elected to the vacancies caused by the removal of Messrs R. M. Smith and Simpson from the district. Mr M. Cobball was elected Chairman. It was resolved to procure 100 trees from the Whangarei Nursery for planting on the school reserve on Arbor Day, such trees to be black wattles, red gums, jarrati, and stringy bark. In answer to a communication from the Education Board re the Redhill and Tntarariki schools the Committee decided to recommend that the Redhill be not reduced to a half time school. It was also decided that Mr McLeod lie authorised to close the Redhill school until next Committee meeting, on account of measles, if found necessary. The Secretary was instructed to post written notices announcing sale of sewing machine by tender, at various parts of the district.
