The annual sermon to Orangemen will be preached at Aratapu on Sunday evening by Rev. J. Blight. We beg to draw attention to Messrs Cousins aud Atkin’s advertisement in another column. We are glad to be able to report that Mr Alfred Smith is progressing favorably and will most probably not lose his sight. The Skating Carnival at the Aratapu Rink was fairly well patronised on Friday last in spite of the weather. Miss B. Brown was the principal prize taker, Mrs G. Graham’s application for 58 acres in Toka Toka Survey at 10s per acre has been granted by the Crown Lands Board. The Poundkeeper has been about this week and the policeman’s cow was run into the stockade. As this was the first conviction the offender was dismissed with a caution on payment of costs 4s 6d,
