M ARKIED v. SINGLE. The last cricket match of the season was played at Mangawhare on Saturday last, and proved a very enjoymble and interesting contestIt was a contest between Benedicts and Bachelors, but many of the chosen on both sides were absent. As the innings drew to an end the play became exciting ; Bassett was playing steadily and was good for several runs if only the •wickets could be kept up till two hits could secure a victory.
