Gumdiggers and others are hereby CAUTIONED that before digging on the Company’s Lands, permission must be obtainai by license, duly signed by those authorised to issue them, and who will explain the conditions on which such permission will bo. granted, the main object of which is to prevent and supiiress fires, which each Summer destroy tracts of valuable Kauri Forest, a loss not only to the Company but to the District, and therefore assistance from everyone to prevent such destruction of property is looked for.
