FOG-OF-WAR SPORTS.
The Committee appointed to carry out the above Sports met on Thursday evening when as no tenders had been received for the booth it was decided to extend the time for tendering to Monday evening. The report of canvasser was very satisfactory ; the Millhands emplo3 , ed at the various mills have given liberally so that their contributions alone will probably reach £l6. Trophies and subscriptions have also been freely promised by others so that the prize list this year will, it is expected, be much in advance of last year’s. Subscription lists are to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than Saturday, ‘2Bth inst. and a full list of prizes will then be published. It was resolved that after this year’s sports the Committee shall take into consideration the permanent improvement of the paddock.
