[FROM OTTP, OWN CORRESPONDENT, 1 The recent visit of Mr Glover, lecturer and organiser for Good Templar Order, to this district has borne fruit and a lodge has been started in this district. The following- are the officers of the new lodge, which will no doubt thrive well : —Li. D. and P.C.T., G. T, Hartnell ; V.T,, A, Gubb ; Sec.. C. Judd ; Chaplain, IT. Hartnell; C.T., E Hartnell; Sup. J.T., L. Grice; F. Sec., W. M. Hartnell; Troas. E. Gubb ; Marsh. "W. Glover ; I, Guard, Ever. Hartnell; A. Sec., S. Gubb; 0.G., G. Koller. The Mutual Improvement Society met on Saturday Dec. 17th, the president being in the chair. It was decided to hold an open meeting of the Society oa New Year’s eve, when a small charge of threepence is to be made for admission to all non members. There are to be some of the best items given during last quarter presented on that occasion. The above business being' arranged a start was made with the evening's programme. The first item was a reading by Mr P. JBeecroft which was very interesting'. The next was a song by Mr A, Gubb, ‘Will You Love Mo When I Am Old?’ who, considering it was his first appearance in public, acquitted himself in a very creditable manner. This was followed by reading’s from. Mr 1!.. vYalter and Miss Gubb, and an impromptu speech by Mr Glover ou good health. The latter gave rise to quite an animated discussion.
