MINSTRELS AT KOPURU.
The entertainment at Te Kopuru, last Saturday evening, in aid of the Tatarariki C. C., was a great success. The hall was well filled and the programme interesting. The Minstrels were somewhat rough on the french roads and bridges in their conundrums. Mr Joseph Molloy was the centre man, whilst the double corners were occupied by Messrs F. Alollov, J. Mcllroy, E. Phelan and F. Walker. There was an openingchorus by the company and songs were rendered by Messrs Mcllroy, 4 She stood behind the parlour door,’; E. Phelan, ‘I want to go home to mama”; F. Molloy, ‘My Grandfather’s Farm ’; F. Walker, 1 She told me to go Jericho,’; ‘J. Nolan, 4 Comrades ’; H. Tidmarsh, ‘Sailing’ ; O. Molloy, J os. Alolloy, and J. Murray also sang. Mr Sullivan gave a Sailor’s Hornpipe and Airs Joseph IVCOIIO3 7 played the accompaniments. A farce followed the songs and then dancing continued till midnight. Mr T. Elliott on behalf of the Cricket Club thanked the Minstrels for their work and the audience for their attendance and said that the proceeds would clear off their debt and probably leave something towards the purchase of a matting’.
