The ordinary meeting of the Arot'vrv.' Band of Hop" - in the use d • ns o . ;i g ' Temperanoo Boarding-house had consented to take the programme in hand for the evening and a packed house attended to hear the result of their efforts. Mr Joseph Sheffield occupied the chair and explained that the promoters had been disappointed in some of their items, but one or two others were present and would assist them. The programme consisted of a recitation by Bella Yalvoi (very nicely given); Song, ‘Cookie Darling,’ Mr F. 11. Walker; Recitation, Nice Rowland ; Recitation, ‘ The Last Shilling,’ by Mr George Field; Song, ‘Down with the traffic,’ Mr J. Sheffield; Recitation, * Curfew must not toll to-night,’ Mr G. Elliott; Address by the Chairman, ‘ Temperance in relation to boarding houses ’ ; Song, ‘ The Golden Slippers,’ Mr F. Walker ; Recitation, ‘The Modest Couple,’ Mr S. Bridge; Recitation, ‘ Shamus O’Brien,’ Mr Gh Elliott ; Address, Mr Georgo Field. The singing of a hymn from Sankey’s collection brought the meeting to a close.
