Cr. Bassett has given notice that he will move at the next meeting of the Hobson County Council to have the tnree ridings of the County on this side of the river amalgamated so as to form one riding. We cannot say that we approve of
the motion for although it has a good deal to commend it, there are also many drawbacks. The continual harping of some people on the indebtedness of the two ridings to the one, has no doubt influenced Cr, Bassett in tabling his motion and we propose in our next issue to have something to say on the present financial position of the western ridings.
