TE KOPURU SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The. ordinary monthly meeting- of tha above Committee was held on Tuesday, present Messrs. K. M. Smith (chairman). J. Brockliss, Jas. Molloy F. Little. K. "Vincent, W. J. McCabe, and G Davidson (Secretary). The Board of Education wrote that five acres at Tatarariki had' been granted for a school reserve. The Board submitted the following names for the Committee's selection of a Head teacher: George Lippiatt, M. A., Class A2 ; F. Hio-cr’in-son, D2 and J. R. Whittaker, D2. The Hast named, being a married man and in other respects suitable, was chosen on the motion of Messrs McCabe an! Brocklis An amendment by Messrs Molloy and Lit le for the selection of Mr Higginson was lost. Two tenders were received for the cleaning of school E Cox .£lO 15s and C Wright LlO 10s per annum. The lowest was accepred. 'MI business in connection with the establishment of a school at Tatarariki was left in the hands of the Chairman and Mr Vincent. The use of the school for Catholics ervices was granted. Accounts amounting to L 4 19s 6d were passed for payment The Board refunded the Committee Lt 10s paid as rent for Hall for school puroses and L 5 9s 6d for fittings in new school.
